Textile personalisation at the centre of the funnel

A store where personalisation is not an option bolted on at checkout, but the starting point of the product journey.

The client

A product that only exists once personalised

Festishirt sells personalised textiles for events. The product being sold does not exist in stock: it comes into being through the customer’s configuration.

That reality changes how the site is designed. A conventional catalogue presents finished items; here, the catalogue presents surfaces and possibilities.

The challenge

A checkout that starts from personalisation

On most stores, personalisation is treated as an option grafted on before payment. That works for an engraving; it does not work for a product whose entire appearance is defined by the customer.

We also had to guarantee that what the customer approves on screen matches what the workshop can print: area, format and technique constraints.

The solution

A configurator inside the funnel, not beside it

We built the journey around configuration: the customer composes, previews, then orders, with no break between the creative step and the transactional one.

01

Visual product configurator

Customers compose their textile and see the result applied to the product. Approval happens on a faithful visual rather than a description.

02

Production constraints built in

Printable areas, formats and available techniques are enforced during configuration, which prevents orders the workshop cannot fulfil.

03

Uninterrupted checkout

The configuration is carried through to payment, with no rework or re-entry between creation and order.

04

Bilingual store

The store is multilingual by design, with dedicated URLs per language rather than a translation layered on top.

Tech stack

The technologies we chose

A Next.js front end on the Medusa commerce engine, with a 3D designer embedded inline on the product page — the same personalisation component deployed at Gobelets.com.

The outcome

A store aligned with the real product

The site reflects how the product is actually sold: through configuration. Orders reach the workshop with usable specifications, without clarification round-trips.
