The Challenge
The B2B packaging sector operated traditionally, with fragmented purchasing processes, paper catalogs and phone negotiations. PackAlpha had the ambitious vision of digitalizing the entire value chain by creating the first B2B marketplace dedicated to packaging in France.
The project complexity lay in multi-vendor management with highly heterogeneous product catalogs, complex pricing logic (volume discounts, custom pricing, special conditions), and B2B-specific order workflows (approval, purchase orders, deferred billing).
The platform also had to handle packaging-specific logistics: palletization, transport of bulky goods and management of variable production lead times per vendor.
The Solution
We built the marketplace on Sylius, a robust and extensible PHP e-commerce framework, coupled with a modern React interface to deliver a smooth user experience for both buyers and vendors.
Complete vendor space
Each vendor has a dedicated back-office to manage their catalog, prices, inventory, orders and sales statistics independently.
Advanced B2B pricing
Flexible pricing system supporting volume discounts, per-client price grids, special conditions and custom quote requests.
B2B order workflow
Order process adapted to B2B: hierarchical approval, purchase order generation, deferred billing and specific payment terms.
Advanced search engine
Multi-criteria search with filtering by material, dimension, minimum quantity, certification and delivery time for optimal product discovery.
